Another handy cheat sheet

Filed under: Templates — sirwaffle @ 10:21 am

I allways tend to find interesting things whilst working on something. You’ll recognise the feeling when you’re stuck on something and looking for a solution, and then you stumble upon a gem that helps you out.

Well today again i found an interesting cheat sheet to have near: a conversion table between ems, pixels, points and percentages for the font size in css.

It sure can come in handy when messing around with font-sizes in your template’s css.

Today i accidentally stumbled upon something handy: a CSS Cheat sheet. It has a quick overview of often used CSS items and can come in handy to freshen your memory. The site has a few other cool cheat sheets too: Php, HTML-characters, MySQL,  … They might come in handy when designing a website/template.

Joomla vs. Drupal

Well the decision finally fell and was in favor of Joomla. The decision to redevelop our department’s website that is. First we intended to try and build the website with Drupal, but that proved to be an enormous ordeal, so we fell back to Joomla. (more…)

First glance at Joomla 1.5: it looks O.K. to me!

Yesterday i took Joomla 1.5 RC1 for a quick test-drive, and i must say i’m impressed with what i saw. The installation went smooth and has a slick interface, as does the administration part. I can’t wait for the  stable version to be released to start developing new websites in 1.5 and even convert existing 1.0.x websites to 1.5 as i’ve seen there’s the possibility to have an export made in 1.0.x and import it whilst installing 1.5.

Hopefully all the components and modules we currently use come out in a 1.5 version quickly!
